Its a little late posting these picks up. I went to go see Jules sing twice this month on his tour for album "Phrazes for the Young". Julian is nothing short of magical when it comes to his art. He always seems to find and surround himself with the most talented types.

I was super excited to see a female gem playing symbols and other instruments top right on stage and TV. Her name is Danielle Haim and she too has a band of her own called "Haim".

Art Director Warren Fu is responsible for all the great graphic T's and CD art that has been lurking around the net and merch stands. Fu also played a huge role in the making of Casablancas's "11th Dimention". My heart hasn't fallen so hard for visual video eye candy since A HA's "Take On Me".

Its a lot of work being a superb Rock Star, but it takes a lot more than one person to elevate the front man to such status too.

Crafts For a Cause Charity Auction

Hey all I know its been awhile, the days of this site are coming to its end slowly as I am actively pursuing different endeavors.

Anyway I'm posting about a fitting charity for this blog and its viewers. Indie Rockers from NYC to Hollywood along with some fashion designers and starlets,to create a crafty way to raise some cash for the Haiti relief effort. All profits will be donated to "Artists for Peace and Justice".

The auction has be created by "Little Joys" Binki Shapiro. is called "Crafts for a Cause" and she has lined up all her famed friends to create a craft that will be auctioned to the highest bidder come Monday morning March 15th. You can expect a hand painted camera by Drew Barrymore,signed ballet shoes from Natalie Portman worn from her latest movie. A tote bag with "The Strokes" icon and signed by all of them,and even a full produced song my Mark Ronson. Anyhow the list goes on. Fashionista darlings will def want to check out the T shirt Rodarte has doodled on or the graphic sharpied t-shirt Feist has made.

From the look book I helped Style seasons back

The first time I met Irina was the second day of class Sr. year. She told me she missed the first day due to an emergency dental appointment. She lied,she forgot school started (typical). She had just returned from a summer long vacation in Italy gathering inspiration for her senior thesis. Then she was chatting it up with the orthodox Jewish girl in class all about Judaism. This lead me to believe she was orthodox (one sexy over exposed see through clothing wearing Jew)??? Wrong I was of course. Anyhow she opened up her portfolio to the most amazing illustrations I'd ever laid my eyes on, my eyes lit up like I saw a treasure of diamonds !!! I told her how fabulous she was and she was so flattered and completely modest about her work, I swear MODEST!!! (that would later change LOL)

Well last evening at the SL club located in the Meat Packing District I was given the pleasure to attend the Project Runway Finale Party where a good portion of the cast along with their model as muses gathered for the press,live tweeting to answer questions to the fans of the show,and most importantly watch the finale airing of the Bryant Park show that releases the long awaited collections which determines the big 100k winner. Her family and friends gathered in the VIP room and gleamed at the show like it was the fashion superball!!!

Irina Shabayeva has been called the BITCH of this season and portrayed by excellent production editing as the villain. The villain however is always somewhere around the top if not the number one gold winner usually. Her competitive nature has always worked for and equally against her too in certain given situations. However there is absolutely no doubt she is and will be a long standing be Project Runway star joining the ranks of Christian Siriano perhaps. A trend that seems to have lacked in 95 percent of the contestants and winners on this award winning series. Irina after all no matter how negative a label put on this primadonna is a seriously talented and professionally trained designer who can both illustrate a beautiful work of art and execute her ideas into an absolutely beautiful garment that captures the original work of art. She builds a story from a strong inspiration story palette and mood, she brings it to life into a well crafted detail oriented garment draped or tailored . This is a talent, especially when you bring brilliant fitting into the picture. I'm allowed to say all this because I too went through the 4 year cut throat program at Parson's School of Design. I also went through it with the she diva herself sharing cutting table space or steeling it(in her eyes). We became the best of friends in the harshest times. When I say harsh it was harsher for her being that second semester over our winter break she went skying and broke her entire leg,had surgery and was cast bound for the second half of our senior year. She shed tears and got over it moving around on a full leg cast and crutches through HORRIBLE BLIZZARDS. I trekked through the snow with this feisty female buying our fabric and threads after school and returned to it working till 9pm closing while testing the building keepers nerve to get another 15 minutes out of the workroom space. A part of me almost feels she if anyone has earned the right to an attitude problem LOL. I'm not so sure that will win friends and influence people but it sure as hell will bring other wins her way. I'm pretty sure she won't go all Armorosa on us (see http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/variousartists/photos/gallery/5400026/photo/10)....Well at least I hope??? Hell she once got into a physical brawl with Vena Cava's Sophie Buhai over the in class CD player, gimp legged and all (another privileged sight) I do love Sophie though. Irina was my best bud but Sophie was my favorite classmate. Irina just couldn't take listening to Cat Power one more time and Sophie was hell bent not on hearing Celine Dion (team Sophie on that one)

The Lifetime drama race to the 100k fails to mention any of this and it doesn't mention that She not only embraced her senior thesis on a 1hr train commute from Sheeps Head Bay on the Q train at times as a cripple with stars in her eyes, broke as a joke living in her parent's apt on the living room couch (aka sweat shop art studio)...The Shabayeva clan is truly an American dream bound bunch amidst in this crazy city!!! If this isn't determination I don't know what is?

All this being said,yes Irina drove me crazy,but could make me and still can make me laugh! And she does have a very soft side as well she just won't dare show it! Fashion is fun,it has more power than most in this world understand. As innovators and artists it is up to us to set the standards of letting the world see and understand what is beautiful. It is the designers that create the creme de la creme of clothing jewelry ect. that will ultimately set what goes into the average persons closet after the knock offs that we inspire for stores like "Forever 21","Rampage" and any other affordable mass produced store in the malls across America. Its a wonder that the designers at the top aren't making more dollar for their contribution with that being said. VOGUE is the castle of fashion and art literary prestige and Anna Wintour is queen bee.

New Girl on the scene is a mysterious Boston bread acting student with a super passion for high fashion. This fashion enthusiast who charmed the media fashion week 2009 fall and is on the rise. She was seen sitting front row at several shows at every VIP party in the spotlight of the media all while quite down to earth in our crazy over the top fashion world,posing for pictures with grace.

Our girl of the moment with a bright future ahead is BECKA DIAMOND!!! She has her style down to class and edge while giving us the constant essence of rock n roll (my own personal fave trait to this stylista)...Looks like Kate Lanphear the style editor at Elle Mag is already a fan scoring Becka major girl worship points by all of fashion darling's girl crush Kate's all around chic!

Each issue curated by a special muse to input an array of interviews with fashion darlings indie and high with fantastic editorials that incorporate words of wisdom and poetry through out.

Daring high end 90's famed super model Karen Elson really out did the other past issues with her picks for this one. Her friends are one of the most cultural cliques in the fashion industry that reach into the artistic world of song, film and cabaret,strong and down to earth woman even with their beautiful oddities. This months highlights their vintage pagan like hearts in spreads and interviews.I love the focus put into these woman,to name a few Sarah Sophie Flickr a regular at the best fashion events in town decked out in vintage class when she is not dancing gracefully around in toe shoes on a trapeze somewhere dangling in a geminola tutu...

Ahhh the 90's bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur of Courtney Love's HOLE. Ironic her placement in this issue and perfect too. I give major faerie props to Lula giving woman in their 30's the chance to share the guidance of their woman hood and the beautiful knowledge that come with time.

This issue is the most special close to my eccentric girly heart being that I know or have interacted with a good portion of this biannual issue's contributors. The article "Flowers In Her Hair" by the budding designer Rachel Antonoff's always catches my intrigue with her reflections from the past to current day. She is quite the romantic.

Its Fashion Week and I've been busy going to shows,looking over proofs from passed shoots,keeping up with whose doing what online,and watching Project Runway waiting for Irina Shabayeva to either win a project or murder someone. Anyway all that being said,I've been neglecting this site.

One of my favorite things this week was meeting up with Xenia from Lime Crime Makeup. We've been wanting to chat eachother up for some time now. And we intend to do so in the future. I just wanted to share this precious gem with you. Her blog is a must read. Xenia is a new component to my collection of young beautiful woman who are working indie careers and support one another.

Anyhow I am in the works of starting a new site. I feel that blogger has been a great force for me to start,and this one in particular has helped unite many and help people show their stuff. I will continue to post sparingly here as I work out the new site. xoxo

There is so much romance hanging on our wall of hope in our Jersey City Atallier. Some of you may ask why I keep showing previews of our spring collection,well I believe you are only as good of a designer as you inspire those around you and checking you out on line. If you want to live in a world of beautiful things that means its not enough to make them and hide them all to yourself,you have to immediately put it out there like "The Secret" so the law of threefold can hit you back 10 times harder.

The past 6 days have been spent all locked up in the studio hand sewing away reconstructing vintage pieces into something new while reinforcing the beauty they've aged with. Jennifer Fein and I challenged ourselves to use what is in house already. Meaning we've found good use to put her ebay addiction to work and all of the scraps of fabrics laying around both of our apartments as musings. and I mustn't forget to mention a kind donation of vintage from my old assistant's Chelsea girl closet as well as a pile of I love these but they don't fit vintage from Jamie Nelson's closet. Here is a sneak peak at our lives behind the seams.

I love remade vintage clothing,the unique appeal that comes with them. They are quite precious and expensive. Sometimes when I've seen boutiques attempt this they don't quite give the care that this art entails. Naturally money is involved as well. This is such a timely project like that of a couture house entails. We are not sure if there is a market for our creations but we love them and if no one ever buys one they will exist to simply please us and our friends who love them.

I created this feather trim by cutting a strip of fabric that had some metal like fibers to it. Inserted 3 feathers or so every quarter of an inch onto double stick tape. Then I hand stitched the strand of fabric down and blind stitched it to our garment. This garment is actually a vintage bra from the 20's paired with a slip skirt from the same time however we've made it into a dress.

Romper in the works...The back of all the fabric is lined with nude chiffon for reinforcement. You can't see but there is some fine embroidery up close that I want to preserve.

Jennifer had this black brushed silk slip that was falling apart in so many areas that she gave me full creative liscense to do what ever I wanted. So I am turning it into a romper by cutting a pattern out and merging it with some fine lace trim that I'd been saving for a rainy day.

This is a vintage pink slip meant to be worn on the hips. We added 2 victorian collars one made into an apron and a drawstring to the middle so it can be worn as a unique little top.

Times are rough for us all. For the most part money is not coming in for many of us as easily as it has in the past. The cash we do make goes to strictly the basics such as rent and utilities and just swinging groceries. Let alone struggling to succeed as an artist or designer. Which is why it is important for all of us to support one another,work together to make things happen and remember to not measure success by the money we make but by the spiritual leaps and bounds we accomplish artistically or mentally.

I miss luxuries as I'm sure many of you do. I count my blessings. I do want more luxuries in my business and life all together. So with a selected few I've worked out ultra sweet deals where we compensate each other with our talents and trades. I'm willing to make more with new people....

That being said I am willing to trade my designer goods for manicures and pedicures,haircuts and facials or yoga classes etc...I do have paid advertisers on this site but if you work with me I will advertise you for free on a monthly basis if you supply me with a deal as well. Their are all sorts of luxury deals to be made with me or through my parental units, who work with cosmetic lasers to erase scars,acne,hair removal,and even cellulite and facial lines...That's right body sculpting it is called,and my father is one of the only 2 people to own and be certified to practice this specific laser in the NJ area. Those services are however extremely costly so the favors would have to be rather healthy since those services run in the high hundreds to thousands.

I have my hand in so many designer/artist projects currently. First there is my solo company of Hair Accessories aka ANGEL LUST,which I am currently building a web store for by the lovely Mathew Noren my tea time buddy.

Then there is Angel Swan which is my line of accessories I design with Caycee Black. We use the scraps of fabric from production (nothing goes to waste) and we make beautiful head pieces that match and finnish her collection off to a T!!! Caycee is on the rise,she is def one of my best designer friends. Caycee is a dreamy southern gal packaged in sleek girlish style. We graduated Parson's together and plan to go places together on our fashion journey through time. This summer Caycee will be touring the US at the stores she has picked up,cupcakes and cocktails will be served to the best in house customers as they can shop and preview her collection first hand.

This coming Fashion Week the lovely Jennifer Fein and I are musing together to create a fashion flower seed that will grow into a big beautiful long lasting fleur. What you ask am I talking about? We are working hard in our lofty studio and draping random vintage pieces on the dress form to create new ideas. We are taking Victorian collars and turning them into yokes,as well as taking skirt slips and making them into full length dresses while adding a vintage bra. We are draping over corsets and tutus to form something that is not so lingerie looking. We are inspired by the essence of femininity and all things ballet fairytale,Its safe to say there may even be a slight touch of Rock n Roll. Our fashion baby is Dark and Romantic in the same time.

So once again me and my designer gal pals are planning a designer party exhibition part deux! The goal is to rework romantic vintage pieces into something new and innovative. This project is inspired by the works of the lovely Leah Michelle who lent us her garment from her senior thesis for the Angel Lust Cupcakes and Bows trunk show!!! This is a cooperative effort that will most definitely lead to something greater such as a company. Our first collection will serve as the root of what is to come...The pieces will be available to purchase at a very pretty penny. We will keep what does not sell in our archive for future design inspiration...

Right now we are hard at work in our studio located near the Hudson River which we love with a passion.

The roaring twenties are one of my favorite decade. Those days where filled with glamour and the decadence back then was entirely controlled it seems in comparison to today. Ah the good old days when people had to communicate with each other,technology was not quite in the way of communication. We used to need our hearts as opposed to a computer screen. Woman needed dresses,hot tasseled swinging pieces to wear out during the prohibition!!! Sex was in the air breathing heavily through the night time in the city...At least in my mind.

One day my design partner Jennifer Fein and I will build our archive so huge it will stretch from her loft/our studio in Jersey City all the way across the Hudson River to NYC,it will be filled with 1920's vintage from floor to ceiling!!!

I daydream about the source of entertainment and costumes that time had to offer at the night clubs back then...

I picture tap shoes and this tutu romper on a showgirl at a midnight cabaret...

My publicist Erin Ryder spotted this a couple of days ago. Apparently The new Fame Game home page decided to use one of my photographs from my IloveShop.com trunk show party. Erin is a fantastic PR girl,she is perfect for young designers like me to hire for freelance work or on a more permanent basis. I've probably known her since I was nine so its fair for me to say she is all that and more!!!

This is Deanna Mara Nolesco she used to assist in PR work for me a little more than a year ago.

So the other night Catherine Pierce debuted her paintings at the Cameo Gallery which is located in the back of The Loving Cup Cafe. Wine was available as was The Pierce's singing along in harmony with "The Morning Pages",later on that night Paige Wood played an acoustic set.

I suppose it was 3 seasons ago when Alice and Olivia staged a show in their store and Paige Wood modeled for them,any how I found this accidentally on line take a look at vintage Paige LOL.

Morten Harket lead singer of the 80's band A-Ha is a god with the voice of an angel. I found this acoustic version of the once synth pop song "Take on Me",it brought tears to my eyes. When their original video came out I was just a girl around 7 and this video was romance to me. It still is...I won't let romance die no matter what let downs life throws my way! After all the girl in the video went on to be Morten's first serious girlfriend which I'm sure lead to the firs heart break. Time has a way of touching our hearts and taking away whats precious only to give us new beautiful moments.

Yesterday chills were sent down my spine when I received an email titled "BAD NEWS",with a link to this story.

PARIS – British actress Lucy Gordon, who appeared in "Spider-Man 3," was found dead in her Paris apartment after apparently committing suicide, French police said Thursday. She was 28.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, though it appeared to be a suicide, said an official with the Paris police headquarters. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of police agency policy, gave no details.

Gordon, who would have turned 29 on Friday, appeared in a dozen films, including as reporter Jennifer Dugan in "Spider-Man 3." She portrays British singer and actress Jane Birkin in an upcoming biopic about Serge Gainsbourg.

It doesn't make sense to me that Lucy would commit suicide,because I knew her. I haven't seen her in a couple of years,but she was always smiling and loved her career and did not lead a sordid life. We used to sit and laugh at the dog park with our pooches and indulge in light conversation. She lived on 7th street directly across from my best friend. I've suffered from mental illness and can pick up when others do as well. I did not get that she did at all. We were all so excited when she got the small part in spider man,when I first met her she had a roll in an art house flick called "Russian Dolls",I was so impressed because her character was nothing like who she was.

I knew Lucy would go far,and it seems that her death is making her more known much faster than her career did. This is sooo creepy that fact in itself,but I am happy that she will be remembered intensely. I pray her pet is alright,my heart goes out to her family.

I can't help believe she was murdered,but either way both suicide or murder are equally tragic and bothersome.

Lucy you will be missed,I missed seeing you walk around our neighborhood in your vintage rock t shirts dressed down all cool with your genuine smile and unstoppable beauty. You were going places and have been to places more than most people ever will be in a longer lifetime. The ironic part is even though you are deceased your memory seems as if it will last forever past most of us all after we're all gone.

The beautiful moments have arrived after a brutal winter full of sadness entwined with dinners with Sophie in high end nouvelle cuisine restaurants and nights at THE BOX. Thank God its spring.

My family lives near the shore in a neighborhood full of woods and fleurs. I wish New York City had more greenery and flowers spread through out our concrete city. I needed to get out of here for just a while to glare at the stars,walk on the beach with an ocean breeze and dream about a better life ahead.

My intern brings rose and violet macaroons to work often,and we indulge in violets and caramel tea time. We know how to live and work and play all in a beautiful day...

My favorite couple Conlin and Paige through a PAGAN party for Colin's birthday and Jezabelle came and hung out in the garden as we drank wine at their charming carriage house. We should all be lucky to have a carriage house in this city.

One of my dearest spring treats is visiting baby Vance and his daddy Justin my friend of 13 years now. Justin runs Atomic Passion,one of the city's best vintage clothing stores. Gigi the other owner and I used to sit back in the garden behind the store at night with pinot noir beneath the sunset. I would run across the street to my decrepit apt when done.

Yes, I make rose cupcakes. The frosting includes rose extract and crushed rose petals.

The yogurt I was talking about is a French yogurt - Mamie Nova violet yogurt. The Rhubarbe Rose is good too. It's available in the states, but you have to look around. Try Dean and Deluca in SoHo.

There are other good brands of French or violet yogurt in the states, as well.

Rachel's yogurt is one of my favorite brands (it's not French though). It comes in lovely flavors like lavender, and pomegranate. It's available at Whole Foods.

Candice can be seen on Mars's arm at all of Patricia Field's fabulous parties VIP,since Mars works their during the daytime hours. Well I've been raving about my designer friend Kerin Rose lately since she will be accompanying me at my night of cupcakes and bows.

Her name has been flying around the net for the past 2 days because Pop Star Katy Perry left Patricia Field's yesterday with bags full of A-Morir. I want these Lolita glasses like its no one business.

And throw in a Tarina Tarantino necklace to match it!!!

Dress by Leah Michelle,Bow by Angel Lust by Kristen May

A good many of you fashionista darlings have inquired about this lovely gown my assistan Leah Michelle Wichler has created. It is composed of vintage fabric and trim tres expensive attached to a victorian bra from the 1900's. Leah and I plan to collaborate on a minnie line of such pieces. Perhaps we may involve the talented Jennifer Fein whom I've been bouncing ideas off of will join us in this effort. We are doing this strictly for fun and love of the idea of marrying the 60's with the glam error of the Victorian times.
